Pyramids show

Everyone is surprised when i say have not been to pyramids. But when any of my friends visit me i know the first thing they wish is to visit this historical place. So keeping my chances for later.

Nevertheless one of colleagues have invited me for the laser&sound show at pyramids taking place at night. So did not miss this opportunity and been there.
The show was totally frustrating for me:( beside being so cold the show was merely simple lasers drawing lines over pyramids. Therefore prayed to be over soon.

Sound is ok but the history they are telling has no plot. This show can sound to some of you interesting but most of the people like me was expecting a better one for a mystical, fabolous and fascinating structure like this.

Mediterraneo

Among all other points one of the most part i have missed is a traditional Turkish breakfast. Menemen(kind of omelette), White cheese topped with spice and olive oil with tomato&cucumber salad, black olives, fresh and hot bread.

People in Egypt mainly does not have a regular eating times for all meals. So if they decided to have a breakfast usually eating Ful or stop by coffees that i have mentioned before and have toasts.

At last i found a place which serves mediterranean breakfast similiar to Turkish one. Yum yum! finished all with a great haste.
The place's name is Mediterraneo located at 6th street. Also another place which serves breakfast simliar to Mediterraneo is Lucille's which supposed to be an American restaurant. Also they are claiming to have the best hamburger at Egypt, did not try yet because eating so much fastfood at lunch. Definetely when i taste will write down here for sure.

Luxor

My luxor adventure has started when we plan to visit a huge aluminum factory located there. My decision was to visit valley of kings while i was there but unfortunately we could not catch the chance so i took a photo of desert lying infront of our hotel beside small plantation. Hopefully my next visit to there will be fully dedicated to history of the city which has the most ancient sites all over Egypt.

Jared's bagel

Jared's bagel is a small shop usually for take away having broad range of breads and bagels. I have tried the bagel with honey and it was ordinary. Nothing so fancy about that at all.

But for the breads it is so clean according to other bakery shops, trust the taste also.

Unfortunately it has been quite while since i have updated my blog hence returned with couple of entries for you. The cause was only my work so hard and had many travels.
First of all let me complete my coffee visits, the last and the one which expats are showing great interest is Coffee Greco.

The atmosphere is fine. although from outside seems so small there is a big hall inside. The drinks and toasts are ok also has a net access with a reasonable fee. In fact i could not come across with any restaurant offering free internet yet.

If you want to be in a cozy and friendly atmosphere Cafe Greco will satisfy your needs.

Coffee shops

Every weekend i am very bored after waking up and couple of minutes of bathroom stuff i found myself in the quiet streets of Maadi. Luckily the next street is conradictionally full of life when compared to mine. Groceries, bunch of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants even carpenters are available. Then i decided to taste each coffee shop that are not familiar to me from my home country.

Find below the photos of the shops that have been visited by me since couple of weeks:

Cafe Beano's, Tasted a cup of latte did not like it all. It was too strong, just a little milk used. Roasted turkey&cheese sandwich was ok but could be better with more fresh lettuce. One of the positive thing of Beano's is it has a huge yard that allows for fresh air and to have a seat in between shiny wheather.
Second Cup, The big add for the Cairo's hottest places booklet attracted my attention to have breakfast in here. This place was the first visited by me. Service is ok but frustrated by the almost cold sandwich with unmelted cheese inside. But the coffee was so good(pecan butter cream latte) that they share the second place with Costa.

Costa coffee, The drink was ok the largest selection is available for hot sandwiches. Service was poor, waited so much for a coffee and a club.

Cilantro, This is the best i have tried for the taste. Although running out of most of the sandwiches in weekend is a negative for them sandwich was very tasty. Mocha was great almost like Starbucks. And the staff was nice and place was cozy.

Enough of soft drinks

Generally human nature's weak point is when having everything desire for nothing, having nothing and desires for everything! Although i am not a heavy drinker and have some alcohol when going out or for the celebrations under this situation wishing to drink every night. Almost every supermarket does not sell alcohol but there are small stores which i found so far selling alcoholic beverages in Maadi.

Massoud supermarket and Drinkies. Massoud is the modern one selling almost only imported products such as cookies, frozen staff, food dressing beside alcohol. Prices are a bit high but worth cause of lack of options. Drinkies sells only alcohol but mainly low end brands which i have never heard before. Heineken beer may be found here which is local produced. And some other whisky and vodka as i said with unknown brands. Among 4-5 choices of wines i recommend to pass the local Omar Khayyam one and stick to the South African one. This is for sure the best drink they have in the shop besides Heineken.
